Summer Breezes

L-R Sara Demolli, Sandi Norman, and Kevin Barta

Arts Council members and friends gathered to enjoy a late summer concert on Sunday. We’d like to thank everyone who joined us and offer a special thank you for our artists who performed at our Summer Breezes Concert! Kevin Barta regaled the crowd with a wide variety of music, from Debussy’s Claire de Lune to Boogie Woogie. High Schooler Sara Demolli entertained with musical theater selections, and Sandi Norman’s vocal praise wrapped up a perfect evening. It is just amazing the talent we have right here in Plant City!

J. Seward Johnson Sculptures

The Arts Council of Plant City is pleased to announce the return of ten J. Seward Johnson sculptures to the downtown area just in time for the Florida Strawberry Festival. The popular sculptures will be installed on March 1, 2017 and remain in town through June 1, 2017. The public art exhibit is brought to Plant City by the Arts Council of Plant City, the City of Plant City, the Plant City Chamber of Commerce, Unity in the Community, All a Bloom Florist, the Plant City Photo Archives, Main Street Plant City, Don Walden, and Hopewell Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens.

On Saturday, April 1st join the Plant City Statue Challenge and stage a living statue in downtown Plant City to celebrate the J. Seward Johnson sculptures. The Arts Council of Plant City invites individuals, families, clubs, and businesses to participate in the event and post their photos on the Facebook photo contest. Tag pictures and/or video on social media using #PCStatues17. Technical assistance will be available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in McCall Park.
