2021 PTSA Plant City Reflections

Tonight, Kristine Trottier with the PTSA welcomed a gallery of students, parents and sponsors for the annual Plant City High School Reflections. Each year, the Arts Council sponsors this event where the school uses the funds for art supplies for their students to participate in this program. This year’s theme was ” I Will Change The World By…”

The Arts Council was honored to be asked to join and our very own Gwen Thomas spoke on our behalf. Keynote Speaker Keith Goodson (well known for the new mural in downtown) left a lasting impression for the fellow artists.

We would like to congratulate all the students who entered and walked away with a ribbon:

Plant City Parade

This was the first year the Art Council Board participated in the Plant City Parade and it won’t be the last. Joe & Melanie Knox went to town and decorated their truck with lights, a giant nutcracker and the first downtown banners we had made. Randy & Laurette helped with the decorations and donated over 500 beads to toss. The Knox Grandchildren and Lily Hart were shining Art Council Princess enjoying the festive ride in the bed of the truck while Melanie, her kids and Melissa Hart walked and tossed beads.

Plant City High School Reflections Awards

Each year the Art Council sponsors the Plant City High School Reflections program. The Arts Council sends a donation to help cover the cost of supplies for the artists who enter the program. Melanie Knox was one of our board member who participated in the judging while Darcy Stottlemeyer spoke at the awards ceremony.

Congrats to the artists who took home ribbons:
