Plant City is the place to be this weekend with cultural events at Plant City Entertainment, Empty Bowls event and Plant City Pioneer Day and Florida Opry!
Plant City Entertainment’s ‘Parallel Lives’ is opening November 8th at 7 pm. Show dates include November 8,9, 14, 15, and 16 with shows starting at 7 pm. On Saturday November 9th, Plant City is hosting two events! The annual Pioneer Day will be held at the 1914 Plant City High School. Activities include historic demonstrations, face painting, youth dance demonstrations and clogging!
Don’t miss the Empty Bowls event to support the United Food Bank of Plant City on Saturday November 9th. See the clay bowls made by Hillsborough County students as part of an arts in the community partnership! Hillsborough County students are back in school so what a great time to highlight a few of our arts education programs! The Arts Council of Plant City reaches out to provide arts opportunities to a wide range of residents in East Hillsborough county. Our free programs at area schools and Day Care Facilities include Dance Education, Art Workshops, Visual Arts Education and Community Partnerships.
Two of our vibrant partnerships include supporting the artists for the Food Bank of Plant City’s Empty Bowls project and continued visual arts Education at the MacDonald Training Center Plant City Campus.
The Arts Council of Plant City is committed to increasing the availability of arts experiences though programs like these which help develop enthusiasm for the arts by the next generation. For more information on our education programs please check our Arts Education page coming soon!
August 1,2, and 3rd are the last performances for Plant City Entertainment’s production of Les Miserables! A fabulous production, the cast is phenomenal and the show is a must see for seasoned veterans and newcomers alike. You can’t beat the price, $14 for adults, $12 for seniors and students, $10 for members. If you haven’t seen it yet, don’t delay…seats are going fast.

On April 21st, we will be hosting concert pianist Dr. Teo Kulyk. Join us at 6:30 at the Plant City Photo Archives for an evening of music and light refreshments! Tickets will be $25 and all proceeds will support arts education programs.

We’ve had a busy fall celebrating arts and artists in Plant City and we’d like to thank everyone for coming out and joining us at the United Food Bank of Plant City’s Empty Bowls project and the Eleonora Lvov concert. In the community, we’ve taught dance programs, supported arts education and offered youth face painting and holiday craft workshops. The Plant City Arts Council is planning exciting programs for the spring! Be sure to come back soon for more information on upcoming concerts, art exhibits and workshops available in Plant City this spring.
